In a good sign for Showtime, its new drama “Masters of Sex” edged up in the ratings in its second week even though its “Homeland” lead-in was down slightly.
According to Nielsen’s Live+same day estimates, the 9 p.m. telecast of “Homeland” averaged 1.83 million viewers Sunday night — a dip of 4% for its third-season premiere of the previous week. Counting its quickie repeat, its tally for the night of 2.5 million is down a bit from last year’s 2.6 million on its premiere Sunday.
“Masters of Sex” followed at 10 with about 1.1 million viewers, up from the 1 million who tuned in for its series debut one week earlier. Counting its second airing late Sunday, “Sex” drew 1.5 million for the night, up from last week’s 1.4 million.
According to Showtime, the season premiere of “Homeland” has been seen by a cume audience of 6.4 million, up 24%…
