NBC has given a 13-episode straight-to-series order to a new half-hour comedy series created by Fey and her 30 Rock collaborator Robert Carlock and starring Office alum Kemper, TVLine has learned.
Tentatively titled Tooken Officially titled Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, the single-camera comedy — set to premiere in Fall 2014 — centers on a woman (Kemper) who escapes from a doomsday cult and starts life over in New York City (where the show will be shot).
Fey (who will not appear onscreen, save for a possible guest appearance) and Carlock penned the pilot script and will serve as EPs alongside fellow Rocker David Miner.

Glee may soon be taking a bigger bite out of the Big Apple.
Fox’s groundbreaking musical — which for the past year-plus has been splitting its focus between New York and Lima, Ohio — may shift the action entirely to the City That Never Sleeps as early as this season, sources confirm to TVLine exclusively.
It’s one of several ideas Fox is discussing with Glee creators Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan, who have been forced to reexamine all aspects of the show in the wake of Cory Monteith’s tragic death in July.
In an interview earlier this month, Murphy acknowledged that navigating the post-Finn era has been “f—ing hard,” adding, “It’s hard every day. It’s hard in the writers room, it’s hard on the set.”

(7 mil/2.2) rose a tenth while bubble drama Betrayal (3.4 mil/1.0) managed to hold steady, per finals. Revenge (5.6 mil/1.5) however ticked down a tenth in the demo.
Over on CBS, The Amazing Race (8.1 mil/1.8) slipped one tenth, but that outstanding installment of The Good Wife (9.4 mil/1.4) matched its week-ago numbers and The Mentalist (8.8 mil/1/3) rose 13 percent and a tenth.
